SELF-CARE...We all need something in our glass...


IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU!


We all need something in our glass before we can give to others.  Ask yourself...How helpful can I be if my glass is empty? 

 

  

 For many of us, myself included, we prioritise the needs of our family, friends, work commitments and whatever else may come our way. We say 'yes' because we know that someone needs our help. However, to ensure we can truly be there for others, offering them our time, help and support, be it physical or emotional, we need to be ready. That’s why it’s so important to...'take great care of yourself’.

Be kind to yourself...

It's priceless

When you are kind to others,  what do you do?...

  • Listen
  • Offer them time and space.
  • Remind them, they are not alone.
  • Ensure they are looking after themselves.
  • Sending them positive and uplifting messages.

With our loved ones and the people we care about many of us will do this daily, sometimes more than once a day, depending on their needs.


My questions to you are.... How often or regularly do you?

  • Listen to yourself - when your body and mind is telling you to rest?
  • Give yourself time and  space when things seem overwhelming and you need to take a press the pause button?
  • Tell yourself that you are not alone?
  • Look after yourself, ensuring you are eating well, exercising and getting enough sleep?
  • Leave yourself a little note or tell yourself that you are doing the best you can, a simple well done?

For so many people, it's easier to reach out to others, offer them kindness and love, yet not give themselves the same kindness and love.


I encourage you to take a moment, reflect and think about how you are kind to others. Make a list about what you give to others and compare it to the time and love you give to yourself.

Gratitude! Now here's a word to fathom when you are worried, struggling with life's troubles or going through trauma.  Finding the the energy or words to be thankful can be difficult.  During one of the most traumatic times in my life... I will soon be sharing with you, how and why I managed to find gratitude at the end of each day...
